Why Learning Is So Hard And What You Can Do About It?

I don’t know how many of you remember these 3 letters IIN which, were heard or seen everywhere
in India. There were many TV ads and also radio commercials that were on air.

For those who don’t remember, look at the picture below and you may just remember.

As time goes by and new commercials/ads start to appear on Television we tend to forget the old
ads. I am not promoting Idea Internet Network here but trying to make a point.

Let’s look at the video below and you may just get a clue of what I am trying to say.

I hope you got the message. For those who did not still understand, let me clarify. The ad above shows that the guy wants to start a business but is unaware of how to do it. His friend refers him to IIN and he keeps learning and starts his own business.

What I liked about the ads though is that they were promoting Learning.

We start off at school as kids and hate studies, waiting to get out of school and into college. Then finally we finish studies and get onto our jobs. As we start to work in the corporate world, we start associating ourselves with the knowledge and position that we have gained. We tend to get into the comfort zone and suddenly one day as we are asked to learn new things/skills, we show resistance.

The reason though is very simple. Everyone loves their comfort zone and is happy with the knowledge that they possess. Now as you grow, your nature starts getting into rejection mode as learning takes effort and time. What we forget though is that learning is required at every step.

As I got these 3 letters in my mind IIN, the first thought was definitely Idea Internet Network but the second thought was Impossible Is Nothing. If you have the will to learn then you will learn.

As smile is a curve that sets everything right, in the similar way Learning is a curve that sets your life in the right direction. In short you don’t have to depend on people for the smaller things. I have seen a lot of adults, especially after the age of 40 being too rigid to learn new things.

I would urge you all, to always keep your mind open to learning. You may have a serious boss, an irritating friend, pestering neighbor, etc. Everyone teaches you something. If you can go beyond
the shouting, irritation and pestering, I guarantee you that you will only move forward.

Being a thief can put you in the path of the law but my friend, please learn to steal the good you see in others as its safe and soon it will be a part of your personality.

Lastly, I would say “There is no age to learn, if you have the will then you will find a way”.
